Frequently Asked Questions Question What is the cost of the course? Answer The Fundi course is free to all those in the tourism industry actively promoting South Africa as a tourism destination. Question How long is the course? Answer You have one year in which to complete the course, if you are unable to, but can prove that due to unforeseen circumstances, for e.g. due to illness, you will be allowed an extension of three months. Question Is the course only available on the Fundi website. Answer Yes the course is only available online since it has been made free. Question How do I complete the assessments? Answer The assessments are multiple-choice questions that must be completed on the Fundi website. Each assessment consists of ten questions; you need to obtain 80% to pass. You can do the online assessments as many times as you need to, to attain 80%. The first online assessment covers modules 5, 7 and 8 the second covers module 6; once you have passed these a final online assessment comprising of 30 questions will have to be taken. You will need to get 80% to pass. Should you not achieve 80% you will have to take the assessment again until a pass mark of 80% is achieved. Question Is there any form of self-study? Answer Yes, worksheets can be found at the end of each module, the answers can be found at the end of each worksheet. Question Is there a support system in place? Answer Yes, our 24 hour call centre will assist you with any difficulties that you may encounter. Question How will I be kept informed of changes and developments? Answer Course participants will receive a monthly Fundi newsletter. Question What happens once I qualify? Answer We will send you a Fundi certificate which you can display in your office certifying that you are a bona fide Fundi. We will also send you a decal to put in your window, advertising that a South African Expert is inside. Question How does the lead referral system work? Answer Once you qualified as a Fundi we will create a profile of you and your organisation on the Fundi website. Prospective travellers visiting the South African Tourism website will be referred to the listing of Fundis’ where they can search by country for an expert. |
